The problem

A 24-hour deadline is an operating-process test.

The early warning does not wait for a finished root-cause analysis. After a prompt initial assessment, awareness is reached when the manufacturer has a reasonable degree of certainty that a reporting trigger is met. A signal alone is not automatically awareness, but internal approval cannot postpone a clock that has already started.

A manufacturer that has not already assigned owners, prepared access, inventoried its products, mapped ENISA fields and planned submission-confirmation evidence will spend the first hours building the process instead of managing the report.

What it covers

Governance

Primary owner, backup, emergency approvals, 24/7 escalation and cross-functional responsibilities.

Platform access

Active personal EU Login accounts, two-factor authentication, Assigned Representatives as SRP users and reviewed routing information. SRP registration occurs when a report is needed.

Product records

Product, version, EU availability, support, owner and evidence records ready before an event.

Awareness

Original signals, prompt initial assessment, UTC timestamps, reasonable-certainty basis and controlled reporting decisions.

Reporting packets

Minimum early-warning data, 72-hour expansion and event-specific final-report controls.

Evidence and exercises

Notification IDs, confirmation emails or alerts, exact submitted content, corrective evidence and a two-scenario tabletop test.

The checklist reflects the CRA reporting timeline and published ENISA platform guidance available through September 3, 2026. The production SRP is scheduled to be operational by September 11, but its production URL and live workflow have not yet been verified. Recheck the checklist whenever live field or routing guidance changes.

Is the checklist free?

Yes. It is a six-page operational readiness checklist available through free Payhip checkout.

Does it determine whether a product is covered by the CRA?

No. It is deliberately limited to reporting readiness and does not replace a legal scope analysis.

What is the difference between the free checklist and paid system?

The free checklist identifies readiness gaps. The paid system adds the Excel operating record, automated deadlines, reporting packets, evidence register, submission log, worked examples and runbooks.
