Requests can be made during the order period
BIS allows requests for adjustments or exceptions on a rolling basis. The rule also describes interim relief through a DPAS temporary license while a request is pending.
Track the lifecycle
Record request type, submission date, facts, supporting documents, status, BIS correspondence, decision date, terms and affected transactions.
Do not confuse DPAS authorization with export authorization
The rule states that a DPAS authorization is not equivalent to and does not replace licenses or other authorizations required under the Export Administration Regulations.
